The Kids Early Years (KEYS) Network

Department of Communities & Justice

The Kids Early Years (KEYS) Network is a Western Sydney Service Delivery Reform (SDR) initiative that aims to remove organisational and professional barriers, alleviate the siloed fragmented nature of care, and pursue the vision of ‘one Western Sydney care system’ to provide true value based and person-centred care.

In the development and refinement stages of model development, the KEYS Network was required to engage and consult with the Western Sydney Aboriginal community on how the KEYS Network will provide services to Aboriginal families. This engagement, led by Ngurra Advisory, was critical for KEYS providing a culturally informed and responsive service to ensure Aboriginal families so they could safely engage with KEYS and receive a high-quality service.

Ngurra was engaged to undertake the following services:

  • Design and activate an Aboriginal Community Engagement Strategy for KEYS

  • Develop and Aboriginal community Communications Plan

  • Lead the cultural adaption work associated with the KEYS model design

  • Oversee the development of a shared decision-making governance model
